About the InstituteDisciplineCommittee on Professional ConductNormand Gendron, BSc, FCIA, FSANormand obtained his Bachelor of Science degree with a specialty in mathematics from the University of Montréal in 1973. He qualified as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in 1977 and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries in 1978. Normand is principal and senior consultant in the Montréal office of ACS/Buck. He is also the National Retirement Practice leader. He has 28 years of experience with actuarial consulting firms where he has specialized in group benefits and pension plans. During his 28 years as a consultant, he has worked for a number of major firms located in Québec, Ontario and the Maritimes. He has also held other senior management positions. Normand has gained extensive and highly diversified benefits consulting expertise covering all aspects of design, funding and legal compliance. Through the years, he has worked with major corporations and associations on various pension as well as health and welfare issues. He has worked frequently with unionized employees where his calm and unbiased demeanor has gained him respect and assisted him in resolving tough issues. Normand has been active with the actuarial profession for a number of years, and he has also been a member of the Board of the International Actuarial Association. He is a frequent lecturer at industry forums and has been a spokesperson for the Canadian Institute of Actuaries during radio and television interviews. |
