Discipline

The actuarial profession is recognized for its integrity, high standards of practice, and quality of work. One of the many reasons for this recognition is the CIA’s rigorous discipline process, and constant review and enhancement.

The following are two recent initiatives in this process:

  1. For the first time, non-actuaries have been added to the Committee on Professional Conduct. The committee handles all disciplinary matters concerning the Institute’s Members and Associates and provides them with counselling and education concerning disciplinary matters.
  2. This public area of the website was created to make sure the discipline procedure was more transparent.
