Instructions
for the management of
CIA Account and Services
For whom?
An account and services
are provided free to all subscribers to CIA
Public E-mail Lists (ref: list-manager@actuaries.ca).
These services were designed to facilitate the use and the
management of your subscriptions to the CIA Public E-mail
Lists.
With the same account, CIA members (Fellows, Affiliates, Associates
and Correspondents) can request access to additional services reserved
to the members.
How
it works?
The purpose of the CIA Account is to help you create, maintain and
update subscriptions to CIA E-mail lists.
The CIA E-mail lists are already populated with thousands of subscribers,
among which yours may figure.
You can now see at a glance the status of existing subscriptions and
modify them.
Everyone must create a CIA Account, whether this is for the management
of existing subscriptions or the creation of new ones.
Three layers of
management are provided and accessed through first buttons
on the left margin, respectively: for your account (burgundy),
for your e-mail addresses (green) and for your subscriptions
(blue).

In
order to view and update the state of all your subscriptions
in the Public Lists (blue layer); you will first have to type
in your single or smultiple E-mail addresses (green layer).
The creation of a Personal Account (burgundy layer) allows
you to keep a password protected record of all your current
E-mail addresses and subscriptions to CIA Lists for future
maintenance.
Each
time you make changes in the list subscriptions through this
CIA web site application the Lists are immediately updated.
Create
a Personal Account and try it out, it's the best
way to find out if you need these services.
What
does it do?
Solutions
and Methods

of a particular committee but you need the exact spelling
of the list name.
- You have a new E-mail address,
and have to change it on every single list you are subscribed
on.

are subscribed on.
- You would like to completely
remove an E-mail address from all the lists without having
to remember to which lists you were subscribed.
- You wonder why you are receiving
two copies of the same messages from a list. There must
be another of your alias E-mail addresses forwarding this
extra message. But which one?
- You attempt to send a message
to a list, and the reply from the list-manager is "You
are not allowed to post a message on this list". This
tool will help you find out what is wrong with your subscription.
